As some Indiana communities near the two-week mark without electricity, Gov. Mike Braun is blasting the utility company’s efforts to address the problem.
In a social media post Sunday, Braun said NIPSCO has “ample resources” to restore power, but as more than 20,000 residents remain in the dark nearly two weeks after a derecho devastated the northwestern part of the state, the governor is seemingly running out of patience.
“NIPSCO has ample resources to get the job done in northwest Indiana, but they continue to fail Hoosiers,” he said. “NIPSCO is a monopoly with a responsibility to ratepayers. Residents are forced to rely on them for safety and comfort and they must get the power back on NOW.”…
