Scattered Morning Showers and Thunderstorms

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Morning showers and thunderstorms are moving onshore from the Gulf. Late Afternoon rain chances are lower, with mainly isolated showers and thunderstorms possible. Monday and Tuesday also feature only isolated showers and thunderstorms possible in the afternoon. Dry air aloft will keep rain chances on the low side these two days, so don’t count on much moisture. It stays hot, but again, we’re in that typical summer heat range.

Starting Wednesday, moisture begins to rebound into the atmosphere, and that means rain chances increase through the end of the week. Wednesday brings scattered showers and thunderstorms possible in the afternoon. By Thursday, we’re looking at a better chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms.

A tropical wave is expected to move off the west coast of Africa on Monday. An area of low pressure could form as this wave moves into the open Atlantic, and development is possible as the system tracks westward across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic through the end of the week…
