A prominent downtown Sarasota property is moving closer to a major transformation.
The Sarasota City Commission has unanimously approved land-use and zoning changes that will allow Benderson Development to move forward with plans to redevelop the former Sarasota County Administration Center at 1660 Ringling Boulevard.
The 5-0 approvals on August 17 clear an important hurdle for the redevelopment of the aging six-story office building, which Benderson plans to transform into modern Class A office space with ground-floor retail and commercial uses.…
