KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The boat that caught fire Saturday morning near Concord Marina had 11 people and two dogs on it, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Those people and the dogs made it off the boat with no injuries.
TWRA’s Matthew Cameron said in an update Sunday night the boat had six minors onboard. He said the agency spoke with those on the boat and got a report of what happened.
“According to the operator, the vessel had just been fueled, the blower was operating during fueling, and no recent maintenance work had been performed on the boat,” Cameron said. “As the vessel exited the no‑wake zone, the occupants reported hearing a loud pop from the engine compartment, followed by visible smoke.”…
