Non-profits step in to help Teachers with out-of-pocket spending

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Teachers across Georgia spend an average of $830 a year out of their own wallets, according to Adopt-A-Classroom.

Some teachers told News 12 they have spent as much as $1,000- $1,200 a year in previous years.

Nancy Marks, Board Chair of the Public Education Partners of Augusta County (PEP) said teachers go to stores like Dollar General to pick up supplies out of pocket to support their students…
