I’m watchdog reporter Victoria Moorwood. A new hyperscale data center for OpenAI, the AI company behind ChatGPT, is going up in Southern Ohio’s Pike County.
OpenAI and the site’s owner haven’t said how big the campus will be, but its electrical capacity will be huge. By 2032, the OpenAI data center will be able to use 8 gigawatts of power for AI, data storage and more. That’s roughly the amount of electricity needed to power 6.4 million homes…
