MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man whom the district attorney says was wrongfully convicted after he spent nearly 20 years in prison for a murder is scheduled for a court hearing that could free him.
Andrew Hayes was set for a hearing before Judge Lee Coffee on Monday, but the hearing was continued until Tuesday, his attorney said.
It’s not clear why the hearing was cancelled, but Attorney Jason Gichner said they will be ready to present evidence Tuesday from witnesses who came in from around the country.
