Youngsville police sought accreditation after council rejected request, documents show

Documents that were publicly circulated online and later confirmed as authentic show the Youngsville Police Department submitted an application to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies after the City Council voted against pursuing accreditation.

In June, the City Council voted 3-1 against a request by Police Chief JP Broussard for the department to pursue accreditation, saying members wanted additional information before moving forward.
