Niagara Power Transformer is planning a $71 million expansion of its Cheektowaga operations, outside of Buffalo, NY, adding approximately 96,000 square feet of space to its existing facilities and creating 73 new jobs that will grow its local workforce from 146 to 219 employees.
The new facility will provide additional space for manufacturing, warehouse and office operations, allowing the company to manufacture more transformers to meet growing demand. The expansion is expected to increase the company’s transformer production by approximately 50% from 90 to 140 transformers annually, further strengthening its manufacturing capabilities in Western New York.
