Timeline shows when severe weather, tornado threat could hit Chicago area

Most of the Chicago area is at risk of severe weather on Wednesday, but when could those storms hit the region?

According to the Storm Prediction Center, all of northern Indiana is at a “slight” risk of severe weather, the second of five levels the SPC uses to determine storm risk. Other parts of the area, including the city of Chicago and numerous suburbs to the south of the city, are at a “marginal” risk.
