Johnston, Iowa-based Fareway Stores Inc. has opened a new Fareway Meat Market at 7921 Ward Parkway in Kansas City, Missouri, marking a new chapter in the company’s continued investment in the neighborhood.
The opening follows a ribbon-cutting ceremony Aug. 24, where community leaders, neighborhood representatives, customers and Fareway employees gathered to mark the completion of the new facility.
The store replaces the existing Fareway Meat Market at 79th Street and Ward Parkway. That location has served the Waldo neighborhood since Fareway acquired the historic McGonigle’s Market in 2020…
