HONOLULU (KHON2) — Flags at all Hawaiʻi state offices and agencies will be flown at half-staff to honor the death of Dolly Parton, a renowned singer-songwriter, actress and philanthropist.
“Dolly Parton gave the world hope, laughter and the courage to dream bigger,” said Gov. Josh Green. “Though her roots were in Tennessee, she built a real and lasting connection with Hawaiʻi. She made a home on Oʻahu, celebrated our artists and culture, helped put books into the hands of our keiki and used her voice to support Maui families after the wildfires.”
Green ordered the United States and state of Hawaiʻi flags to be lowered immediately and remain at half-staff until sunset on Tuesday, Sept. 1…
