MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Increasing humidity through the end of the week will bring pop-up showers and storms each day.
WEDNESDAY
Humidity returns today with temperatures sitting in the middle and upper 80s. An isolated 90° remains possible for areas along and west of the I-95 corridor.
A few showers will develop along the sea breeze today, pushing more inland as we head into the middle of the afternoon and into the early evening. The storm chances for Wednesday aren’t enough to cancel any plans.
THURSDAY
With enough humidity, showers and storms can happen at any time. Based on the newest model data, we may see that come true on Thursday with a few more in the morning.
With a front nearby, the chance of storms increases on Thursday, becoming more scattered. Temperatures will sit in the mid-upper 80s with showers and storms possible at times throughout the day.
THIS WEEKEND
Humidity will peak Friday and Saturday, leading to our best storm chances of the week. Based on the latest data, the best chance of more widespread showers and storms appears to be Friday and Saturday.
We don’t expect rain all day long for either day, but we do expect showers and storms to be more common.
With an uptick in activity likely through the weekend, make sure you have the WMBF First Alert Weather App downloaded.
Rainfall totals through Sunday could average 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts…
