Lincoln Police are asking for the public’s help identifying people involved in two separate crimes , one involving stolen and damaged security cameras at the old Veterans Hospital and another involving a stolen car that was abandoned after a hit-and-run.
LPD’s Becky Keller says during the weekend of July 12, someone damaged and stole cameras from the old Veterans Hospital, just south of 70th and ‘O’ Street. “This was discovered after an employee found cameras on the ground and another employee noticed four cameras were missing from the building,” Keller says.
“Another three cameras were found to be damaged, and two of them were missing SIM cards.” Investigators reviewed available camera footage from before the system went offline and found images of a man walking around the area.
In a separate case, Lincoln Police are investigating a stolen vehicle and hit-and-run that happened August 19. Keller says cameras at the Casey’s on West ‘A’ captured an individual ditching a stolen car in the intersection…
