VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV) – A dog alerted its owner to a fire early Wednesday morning, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.
Shortly before 5 a.m., crews responded to a fire in the 2200 block of Northeast 102nd Avenue. The fire department said one person was home a the time and reported being awakened by his dog. He was able to safely escape.
Crews arrived to the scene and found fire in an attached garage, with heavy smoke coming from doors and open windows through the home. The fire had extended from the garage into the home.
