HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A newly renovated building in Hanover County has a new name to honor a supervisor who served the county for nearly four decades.
The county held a ribbon-cutting and building dedication ceremony Wednesday to mark a new chapter for the Aubrey “Bucky” Stanley Building in Ashland. Formerly the Wickham Annex, the renaming honors longtime supervisor Aubrey M. “Bucky” Stanley Jr., who represented the Beaverdam District for 38 years.
According to a release, Stanley was first elected in 1983. He was elected to the board 10 times and served as chairman six times before retiring in 2021. The longtime board member died in December 2021, shortly before completing his final term…
