Apple Valley worker charged after co-worker killed by tree trimming grapple

APPLE VALLEY, Minn. (Valley News Live) – A Brainerd man is charged with second-degree manslaughter after police say he accidentally killed a co-worker while “fooling around” with tree-trimming equipment in Apple Valley.

Prosecutors say 34-year-old Christopher Boone Crimmins was operating a hydraulic grapple on a truck Aug. 20 when 24-year-old co-worker Tyler Anthony Lynch was hit in the head and killed.

According to a criminal complaint, Crimmins told officers he and Lynch were joking around, using the sun to cast shadows of the grapple and Lynch onto the street…
