Bronson Healthcare is bringing high-precision lung cancer detection closer to home with Ion robotic-assisted bronchoscopy. This technology provides greater precision and a less-invasive option for patients in Southwest Michigan.
The pulmonology team at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo began using this imaging technology in April as a next step after an abnormal lung scan, especially when nodules are small or located in hard-to-reach areas.
“Lung cancer is often diagnosed at later stages,” said Zachary Bauer, DO, a fellowship-trained pulmonologist specializing in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Bronson Methodist Hospital. “This technology helps us detect lung cancer and other abnormalities much sooner, which allows for more options for effective treatment.”…
