The city of Rochester is facing a lawsuit over the termination of six Police Accountability Board staff members.
The AFL-CIO Local 1635 union chapter is suing the city, Mayor Malik Evans, members of the city’s human resources department and the city’s Civil Service Commission. The lawsuit claims that the city failed to administer a civil service exam to those staff members and accuses the city of firing those staffers in April, just days after a labor judge ruled that the original terms of their employment must remain in place.
