ALBANY — A fundraiser will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday on a blocked-off Broadway in the warehouse district to benefit the recovery of Albany Fire Department Battalion Chief Wayne Brennan and Albany Department of General Services Supervisor Anthony Hughes, who received second- and third-degree burns in an Aug. 4 fuel pump explosion at DGS headquarters in North Albany.
The family-friendly event will feature food and drink specials, games, live music, raffles, a silent auction and the Albany County Sheriff’s Office’s mobile climbing wall. Erin Harkes of Metroland Now will emcee and perform with her band, with additional music by the Albany Rock Pit band and others.
Broadway will be closed to vehicle traffic between North Ferry and Thacher streets. A free CDTA shuttle will run between the event and the Albany Parking Authority’s Quackenbush Garage, where free parking will be available to the first 75 vehicles in the garage on Saturday that use the promo code 229626. Ride vouchers will also be provided by the law firm Harding Mazzotti on Saturday for free rides home…
