NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — An Afton man is being held without bond after deputies responding to a welfare check Thursday heard a gunshot from inside a home and learned a woman was allegedly being prevented from leaving, according to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called around 7:41 a.m. Aug. 27 to a home in the 2300 block of Afton Mountain Road after a neighbor reported hearing screaming from inside, Sheriff Mark Embrey said in a news release.
