HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 2 have released details on repairs that were needed to the southbound Twin Bridge in Henderson and clarified that the structure is not being supported by wood blocks.
According to a post on social media, inspectors identified an issue with rocker bearings beneath the left lane of the southbound bridge that required an extended closure of one lane. A temporary repair plan was put into place to reopen the lane on Monday.
Officials say this temporary repair plan prevented workers from having to wait months for the materials needed for the permanent repairs. Crews were reportedly able to stabilize the rocker bearings and install a new diaphragm to provide an additional means of distributing the bridge’s weight…
