MADISON, Wis. — Madison’s interim independent police monitor is suing Police Chief John Patterson and the city’s public records custodian, arguing the police department has failed to comply with a subpoena seeking records from the deadly police shooting of Corey Ruiz.
Aeiramique Glass filed the lawsuit Aug. 20, asking a judge to enforce a subpoena her office issued July 27 and order Madison police to turn over the requested records.
The subpoena seeks a wide range of records connected to the shooting, including: incident and use-of-force reports, body-worn and dash-camera video, 911 and dispatch records, internal investigation files, forensic, ballistic and autopsy reports, photographs and evidence logs…
