‘As efficient as possible’: 1 roof for city light, power, traffic

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Most drivers might never think twice about the traffic light that turns green or the sign that points the way, but the city has spent years planning a new home base to keep those systems running.

The new light, traffic, and power building was recently completed. The site on East 60th Street is 55,000 square feet, which is nearly the size of a football field. Compared to other city buildings like the newest Fire Station 13, it is just over four times the size.

City employees moved into the space three weeks ago. The building consolidates all branches of light, power, and traffic under one roof…
