MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Temperatures are starting mild in the low to mid 70s this morning, and we’ll be monitoring areas of fog early in the day. A slow-moving cold front will approach from the west today, bringing an increasing chance of storms this afternoon, evening, and continuing through much of Saturday.
High temperatures today will reach the mid 80s along the coast and the upper 80s inland. We’ll also be at risk of excessive rainfall. Parts of Scotland County picked up nearly 7 inches of rain from thunderstorms yesterday, leading to a Flash Flood Warning, and similar heavy rainfall is certainly possible again today. There is a slight risk of excessive rainfall, 15% of 4-6″ of rain which would lead to localized or flash flooding.
Saturday looks to be the wetter day of the weekend. Temperatures will remain in the mid 80s, but showers and thunderstorms are expected as the slow-moving front lingers across the area…
