A suspect was apprehended at a golf course after leading police on a reckless pursuit that ended when he attempted to hide out at a senior living center in The Villages.
Shane Casey-Ryan Diamond, 40, was arrested this past week on multiple charges, according to Lake County jail booking records.
The incident began at about 4:20 p.m. Aug. 23 when a Fruitland Park Police Department K9 officer spotted a blue Chevrolet sedan leaving a residence known for narcotics activity, according to an arrest affidavit. The officer followed the vehicle and allegedly clocked it traveling 56 mph in a 50 mph zone on U.S. Hwy. 27/441.
When the officer activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, Diamond allegedly refused to pull over. The officer then deployed a “Starchase” GPS tracking dart, which successfully attached to the trunk of the fleeing vehicle…
