MADISON, Wis. — A charred power strip is believed to have caused a fire alarm shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday at a laboratory facility in the 600 block Forward Drive, according to the Madison Fire Department.
Maintenance and security personnel escorted firefighters to the main fire alarm panel. Before entering the facility, firefighters shut off exterior circuit breakers supplying electricity to the lab.
Ladder 7 crews entered the lab and conducted a primary search and size-up. They found no active fire, heat or smoke in the unoccupied space…
