Ziggy’s Pizza Is Now Open in Manhattan, KS, and There’s a Story Behind Those Rectangular Pizzas
Manhattan has a new pizza place, but this one isn’t exactly new to Kansas. Ziggy’s Pizza has officially made its way to Manhattan, Kansas, opening at 1026 Poyntz Avenue, directly across from City Park in the former Parkside Station location.
If you’ve spent much time in Wichita, there’s a pretty good chance you already know the Ziggy’s name. However, for those of us being introduced to it for the first time, I did a little digging because I wanted to know about Ziggy’s and their rectangular pizzas.

Ziggy’s Pizza Started as a Family Thing
Ziggy’s Pizza started in Wichita in 2012 when brothers Ryan and Jamie Verbeckmoes decided they wanted to open a pizza restaurant in their hometown. The first Ziggy’s opened in Clifton Square in Wichita’s College Hill neighborhood. And those rectangular pizzas they’re known for? They weren’t created as a marketing gimmick or just to be different…
