1 driver hurt in 5-car pileup crash on I-5 South near Woodland

CLARK COUNTY Wash. (KPTV) – One driver was hurt, and one was cited for following too closely after a five-car crash on Interstate 5 South just past Woodland on Saturday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m., officers were sent to a crash on or near the I-5 Lewis River Bridge, where they found a pileup of five cars.

According to police, the crash happened when a driver in a Subaru SUV, identified as 19-year-old Thatcher Burkart of Portland, approached slowing traffic but failed to stop, causing a chain reaction. Burkart was cited for following too closely…
