Everything you need to know about downtown Cleveland traffic detours heading into the fall

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Two big highway projects in the downtown area will continue well into fall and beyond, causing detours and potential confusion for drivers.

The biggest of the projects involves the $328 million reconstruction of the central interchange along Interstate 90 from Ontario Street to Carnegie Avenue. Some of the bridges date back to the 1960s when the Innerbelt was being constructed. The rebuild work will run through 2032.

And, at the same time, $21 million is being spent to replace decks on three I-77 bridges just south of downtown. This project is due to wrap up in the summer of 2028…
