FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Noticeably warmer and more humid this afternoon, as highs jump a few degrees into the upper 80s. A southerly breeze may provide some relief, but it will also continue to push more humidity into the area as we go later into the afternoon.
Monday will likely be the “coolest” day of this hot stretch, and even then most areas will near or exceed the 90-degree mark through the afternoon hours. Tuesday and Wednesday are even warmer, with temperatures pushing into the lower 90s. Heat Index values will be even warmer, with feels like values in the upper 90s Monday and then near triple digits through Wednesday. To further drive home the point of this heat wave, the Heat Risk map shows both Tuesday and Wednesday maximized in the “Extreme” (4/4) risk category. These will be days you will definitely want to limit time outdoors, stay hydrated, and take frequent breaks…
