AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A longtime Augusta beef processing company announced Monday that it will temporarily scale back operations to undergo a major facility renovation, a move that will affect nearly 200 workers.
FPL Food LLC plans to begin the overhaul of its Augusta plant in November. The facility will run on reduced operations during the construction, with full production expected to resume in early 2028.
International fashion retailer Primark is almost ready to open its Augusta store. The store, the company’s second in Georgia, will open Sept. 10 at Augusta Mall.
The transition will affect 183 positions at the facility, according to the company. Affected employees will be invited to reapply for available jobs once the plant returns to full operations…
