Soul food spot Pop & Son Grill finds home in downtown St. Paul

Pop & Son Grill, which formerly operated inside Cheers Pub on St. Paul’s East Side, will bring its loaded potatoes and other soul food favorites to downtown St. Paul this October.

Chef-owner Roscoe Woulard, who runs the business with his father, Kirk Munson, recently announced that Pop & Son is moving into Securian Financial’s building at 401 Robert Street, taking over a skyway space that formerly housed Montebello’s Empanadas and, before that, Arby’s.

“This transition has been a long journey, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way,” he wrote. “Our team is dedicated to bringing you the highest quality food and contributing to the vibrant revitalization of the downtown St. Paul community.”
