A series of 911 calls about gunfire and a driver pointing a gun at people ended with Eugene police arresting a 42-year-old man in western Eugene.
Around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29, a 911 caller reported hearing a single gunshot in the area of East 16th Avenue and Quaker Street, according to Eugene Police Department (EPD). As officers responded, a second caller from a few blocks away reported that a man in a silver Subaru pointed a gun at him and his passenger as they arrived home.
A third 911 caller reported hearing two gunshots and then seeing the Subaru parked in the middle of the street in front of the caller’s home. When the Subaru drove away slowly, the caller got into his own vehicle and followed it until it parked in the middle of the street a few blocks away.
