NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WAVE) – A man accused of causing a deadly crash in Floyd County appeared in court Monday. It is not the first time he has been charged with killing someone while driving.
Investigators say 32-year-old Dalton Smith was speeding and ran a light while driving north on U.S. Highway 150 and Lawrence Banet Road in Floyd County, crashing into a car and killing 23-year-old Julia Christie.
Nine years ago Monday, Smith pleaded guilty to killing a baby while driving under the influence.
