Mosquitoes carrying West Nile virus found in 7 more Louisville neighborhoods

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB+WAVE) — Mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus were found in seven more Louisville neighborhoods.

The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness said Monday the mosquitoes were found in monitoring traps in the following neighborhoods:

  • Buechel
  • Smithfield Acres
  • Crescent Hill
  • Irish Hills
  • Central Business District
  • Churchill Downs area
  • Camp Taylor/Poplar Level Road area

Health officials said mosquito fogging will take place in those areas Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in the early morning or evening hours, weather permitting.
