ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Leaders from the City of Albuquerque came together to support renovations to the Whittlesey House. More than $115,000 in city grants is being used to support the renovations. The renovations will include repairs, improved security, and reducing fire risk.

“There’s two things to me that indicate decline in society. One of them is the loss of art and history; obviously, we know about that, especially historic architecture for me. The other is the decline of freedom of speech, of the press, of journalistic efforts with many societies, with this grant, that was a part of literally helping secure both for many years to come, hopefully,” said Nate Robertson, Building & Grounds Chairman, Albuquerque Press Club.
