ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An attempted traffic stop turned into a wild police chase all over the Metro. Before the driver was arrested, police helicopter footage showed him driving into oncoming traffic and even maneuvering around spike strips. It wasn’t the first time that driver led police on a high-speed chase.

On February 22, Albuquerque police said an officer downtown spotted a red sedan with no license plate. The officer tried to pull the car over, but the driver, later identified as Ruben Sernas, fled. That’s when air support and more officers were called in to help.
The helicopter spotted the car as it continued northbound on I-25. He drove all the way to Bernalillo, fled from law enforcement there, and turned around heading back on I-25 toward Albuquerque…
