RENSSELAER, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A investigation is underway after a fire in Rensselaer on Tuesday afternoon. Crews responded to the residence located at 6 Broadway.

According to City of Rensselaer Fire Department Chief W. F. Brooking Jr., when companies arrived, they found fire on the first floor of the building. Some fire had also extended to the second floor, Brooking said.
He said there was also heavy smoke damage to the second and third floor. The incident is being investigated by the fire investigation team. Stay with NEWS10 as more information becomes available.
