BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Cheektowaga teenager who was shot in downtown Buffalo on Pearl Street in July is now facing several weapons charges after police allege that he fired a weapon into a crowded area during the incident.
Police allege that a 17-year-old, whose name was not released due to his age, possessed a ghost gun and fired the weapon into a crowded area in the 400 block of Pearl Street around 2:20 a.m. on July 12. He has been released from the Erie County Medical Center, where he was recovering from his injuries, and charged on Tuesday.
The 17-year-old has been charged with the following:
- second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
- third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
- first-degree reckless endangerment
An 18-year-old from Buffalo, Jaivon Johnson, was previously arrested on charges of first-degree assault, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and first-degree reckless endangerment on July 13.
