Scattered showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night

NWS Storm Prediction Center has outlined the area south of a Derby-Castile line Tuesday and Tuesday night for scattered severe thunderstorms. The storms will be more isolated north of that line. Strong damaging wind gusts and large hail will be the primary threats. The threat of scattered severe thunderstorms persists Wednesday. A low-end tornado risk will exist south of a Wilson-Pavilion line.

A Tornado warning for Northeastern Potter County expired at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.

A fairly stationary weather front lingering within close proximity will result in a rather unsettled outlook for the next several days, though there will be some dry time as well. It will be quite humid. Additional showers and perhaps thunderstorms accompany a cold front clearing through Thursday which finally brings drier and brighter weather just in time for the upcoming holiday weekend.
