CLEVELAND (WJW) — A woman sentenced to life in prison without parole for stabbing a 3-year-old boy to death in a local Giant Eagle parking lot had her appeal heard in court Tuesday morning.
Oral arguments for Bionca Ellis, 34, were heard at 10:30 a.m. at Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, with Ellis not in attendance. The hearing comes nearly a year after she was given the maximum possible sentence for the murder of 3-year-old Julian Wood, in what prosecutors said was an unprovoked attack on the boy and his mother, Margot Wood, outside the North Olmsted Giant Eagle on June 3, 2024.
