ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The first day of September will bring slightly cooler conditions but nowhere near the cool goodbye August gave to New Mexico.
Most of the Four Corners region, including Farmington, saw their coolest afternoon since mid-May. The last time Farmington saw a high temperature in the upper-60s was May 18. Farmington and Gallup also had record-breaking cold high temperatures, thanks to cloud cover and light rainfall.
Albuquerque’s high also only topped off at 87 degrees. Finally! We got exactly the average climatological high, on our coolest afternoon high since July 22. The Sunport also saw the most single-day rainfall so far this monsoon season. It also happened to set a record for rainfall for August 31…
