Mallett Records Top-10 Finish at Queen’s Royal During Farmington Empire Speedway Debut

Jordon Mallett produced a top-10 result last Saturday during his debut at Farmington Empire Speedway.

Mallett and car owner A.G. Rains tackled the 29th annual Queen’s Royal, which featured nearly 50 cars. Mallett timed in fifth quickest in his group and he finished second in a heat race to earn a spot into the Queen of the Hill. Finishing ninth in that garnered the ninth starting spot for the A Main.

“The Queen’s Royal is a 410 race, but we had a 360 in and we were pretty good,” he said. “There were a whole bunch of cars there and only a handful of other drivers who also had a 360 in. We timed in good and ran second in our heat race. That locked us into the dash. In the feature, we were really good given how down we were on horsepower compared to the 410s. It stunk when the track slowed down and latched up some rubber. That made it harder to go forward with what we were up against, but we had a really good car all night long and capitalized when we were able to. It was nice to be racing.”

Mallett’s eighth-place result was his 13th top 10 of the season and his 11th top-10 finish in his last 12 races…
