ANTHONY, NM — A family in the Borderland is still asking for help finding Juan Merlos, a 36-year-old Marine veteran who disappeared after last being seen near Anthony two years ago.
Merlos left Houston on Aug. 20, 2024, at 4:59 p.m., according to his family. His blue Chevrolet Silverado was later spotted on I-10 near Mile Marker 161, close to the Texas-New Mexico line, and a license plate reader in Anthony, New Mexico, captured it.
Police said Merlos was also seen at Love’s Travel Stop, where a worker watched him drive off and head toward a motel across the street. His family said he made two unanswered calls to friends in Los Angeles, then never followed up with a message…
