KINDERHOOK, NY (WRGB) — With less than a week before the first day of school, the Ichabod Crane Central School District has made last-minute budget adjustments after what the district has described as a “financial crisis” tied to inaccurate financial information and years of operating budget shortfalls, Superintendent Marie Digirolamo said.
Digirolamo said inaccurate information led to a $900,000 shortfall for the 2024-25 school year, along with significant deficits in last year’s and this year’s budgets. She said a full forensic audit has been launched to determine the extent of the problem and what will be needed to build balanced budgets in future years.
