MLive Will End Michigan Newspaper Printing in December

Eight long-running Michigan newspaper names will disappear from print this December as MLive Media Group moves the publications entirely to digital formats.

MLive announced Sept. 2 that it will stop producing and delivering its eight printed newspapers, including The Ann Arbor News. The final editions will be delivered Dec. 6.

“This transition is dictated by our readers’ overwhelming adoption of our news in digital formats,” MLive Community President John Hiner said.

“I understand that some people prefer a hard-copy printed paper,” Hiner said. “But demand for that format has fallen steadily, to the point that it’s no longer economically sustainable to produce and deliver.”…
