BEND, Ore. — Willamette University will offer tuition-free education starting in the 2027-28 academic year to Oregon students from families earning $80,000 or less in annual adjusted gross income, a commitment that roughly half of all Oregon families would qualify for.
Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, announced the Oregon Access Scholarship, covering full tuition for Oregon students with family adjusted gross income of $80,000 or less, beginning fall 2027. The scholarship applies to Willamette College, the university’s undergraduate college in Salem, and its Bachelor of Fine Arts program at Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) in Portland. It covers tuition after Federal Pell Grant and Oregon Opportunity Grant funds are applied, is open to first-year and transfer students applying this fall for fall 2027 enrollment, and is renewable for up to eight semesters for students who maintain eligibility.
