Self-Storage Development and Zoning Activity: September 2026

Brothers Sami Abunasra and Dr. Nazeeh Abunasra are seeking permission to develop self-storage in a portion of a building that formerly housed a Macy’s retail store at Brass Mill Center in Waterbury, Connecticut. They bought the asset in 2023 for $3.3 million. Part of the structure is occupied by an Ashley Furniture store and outlet, but the remainder is vacant. A trampoline park was planned for part of the lower level but pulled out before construction began.

Cherry Station Self Storage opened in Clarksville, Tennessee. The facility at 2359 Old Russellville Pike comprises 34,800 square feet in 288 drive-up units and 68 outdoor vehicle-storage spaces.
