ROANOKE VALLEY, Va. – A local nonprofit is recruiting volunteers to help children who have been abused or neglected and placed in foster care.
A Court Appointed Special Advocate, known as a CASA, is a trained volunteer who gets to know everyone involved in a child’s life and advocates for the child’s best interests.
CASA of Children’s Trust in Roanoke currently serves 162 children in the greater Roanoke Valley, but officials say the need continues to grow. The City of Roanoke alone has the third highest number of children in foster care…
